From neck-snapping breakdowns to ambient interludes wrapped in sax and synth, the performance blurred brutality and beauty in true Rivers fashion.

The support that night was no mere warm-up. Daath kicked things off with their industrial-tinged groove metal, laying down thick, cybernetic rhythms that set a heavy precedent. Beyond Creation followed with a dazzling clinic in progressive death precision—sweeping fretless bass lines and interlaced harmonies weaving tension through the crowd. Then came Cynic, who turned the evening on its head with an ethereal, transcendent set that fused jazzy sophistication with philosophical weight.
